Our Aims
  • Promote agriculture and agricultural activities as an alternative sources of livelihood ensuring food and income security
  • Promote empowerment of women and youth with their active participation and involvement into community based organizations
  • Promote and partake in various networks, federations and alliances initiated by like-minded NGOs, CBOs and Civil society organizations for addressing the core issues
  • Promote and develop linkages with Government institutions for getting necessary assistance related to development schemes and projects
  • Mobilize necessary resources to support the ongoing development projects at local, regional, national and international levels
  • Promote integrated education for empowering the CBOs and Federations
  • Strengthen local self-governance and enhance the participation of the poor in all the political processes

About the Director

Fr. Milet D’souza is the Executive Director of SDDS, Sindhudurg (since 2013) and also a Governing Body member.  He has completed MSW (URCD) and the Development Dynamic Course of Caritas India in 2014. He has excellent rapport building skills. He is also well versed in the local languages i.e. Marathi, Hindi, Konkani besides English.

At Present he is also the Director of Justice and Peace Commission, SC/ST and OBC Commission and In-Charge of Lands and Properties of the Diocese and is handling various issues related to Lands and Properties
